Beauty devices

about Beauty devices.

Hands-on skincare is where Korean beauty devices come in. Centellian24's Madeca Prime line brings ultrasound, microcurrent and radio frequency to home care, mommycare's EMS massager works along the jawline, and medicube's AGE-R booster uses red and blue LED light while it helps a serum sink in.

Start from the job you want done: absorption for a serum or ampoule, EMS or warming massage for firmer-looking, more defined contours, LED light for a calmer or brighter look. Sessions run a few minutes at a time, and the Madeca Prime devices run their modes in a set order. Put the serum you will use with a device in the same KBeauty Shop order, and both ship from Seoul.

questions, answered.

How often can I use a beauty device?

Each device sets its own schedule, so follow the one printed for yours. Sessions are short, usually three to ten minutes, and many devices stop on their own at the end. Brands often split the modes: an absorption mode daily, with a stronger mode such as focused ultrasound, brightening or radio frequency kept to once to three times a week. Start on level 1 the first time, and stop straight away if your skin turns red, itchy or swollen; check with a doctor before the next session.

Can I use a beauty device with my own serum?

Mostly, yes. Devices are made to work over the skincare you already use, so smooth on a serum, ampoule, gel or sheet mask first; a watery, moisture-rich formula works best, and brands name their own ampoules as partners without requiring them. Two modes differ. The Madeca Prime Max's brightening mode goes on clean, dry skin, with skincare after it. Radio frequency is the mode to read up on first: the Madeca Prime Ritual's RF mode asks for a cream made for radio frequency, and no oils, retinol or sunscreen under the head.

How do I charge a beauty device?

Most are cordless and rechargeable, many over USB-C, with a full charge taking from about one hour to four and lasting several sessions. The LED Glow Lip Mask runs on batteries instead. The medicube AGE-R Booster Pro Mini will not run while plugged in and comes without a cable, so keep a USB-C cable to hand.

Is a beauty device a medical device?

These are sold for cosmetic care at home, not to address a medical condition. The Madeca Prime Max and Ritual are skin-beauty devices, not medical devices, and the AGE-R Booster Pro Mini is made for cosmetic use at home. They work alongside a routine and never in place of a doctor's advice. If you are pregnant, have a pacemaker or metal implants, a skin condition or a recent cosmetic procedure, the cautions that come with the device say to check with a specialist first, and for some devices they rule use out altogether.
