Papain

The enzyme from papaya that breaks down protein.

What it does: Used in enzyme cleansing powders and peels to lift dead surface cells without acids or grains.
How often: Daily in mild cleansers, toner and ampoule; cleansing powders have different schedules for washing and mask use. Peeling gels and exfoliating pads are less frequent, while the retinol set adds gradual evening treatments.
