Menthol

The cooling compound of mint, taken from mint oil or made in the lab.

What it does: Used in scalp shampoos, scalp treatments, cleansers and lip glosses for a cool, tingly, refreshed feel.
How often: With daily face cleansing, when washing or conditioning hair, or as needed in lip care; the scalp scaler is used once or twice a week.
