Vitamin C
Vitamin C, a brightening antioxidant for a fresher, more even-looking complexion.
- Antioxidant
- Conditions skin
- What it is
- Vitamin C, the antioxidant vitamin, used as pure ascorbic acid or as steadier forms such as 3-O-ethyl ascorbic acid, sodium ascorbyl phosphate and ascorbyl glucoside.
- What it does
- Used in serums, ampoules, toners and pads for dullness and uneven tone, and as antioxidant support for skin exposed to daylight and city air.
- How often
- Daily in many serums and creams; concentrated vitamin C, exfoliants, retinoids, shots and masks vary in frequency. Sun care needs reapplication outdoors, with lip care when needed, makeup when worn and hair care at wash time or daily.

Use apart
What we recommend keeping out of the same session as vitamin C, and why.
RetinolUse in separate sessions
Use vitamin C in the morning and retinol in the evening. Sensitive skin in particular is more comfortable with the two in separate routines.
