Base and texture
Roman chamomile
Roman chamomile, the low, daisy-flowered herb Chamaemelum nobile, listed on labels as Anthemis nobilis: a flower extract, a flower powder or the essential oil distilled from its flowers.
- Scent
- Conditions skin
- What it does
- Used mostly as its essential oil, for a soft, apple-like herbal scent, in creams, masks, pads, cleansers and sunscreens, and as an extract in cleansers, creams, serums and toners. The oil is a fragrance ingredient, so skip it if scent bothers your skin.
- How often
- Morning and evening in most daily skincare; cleansing oils and balms are evening steps, mists and lip care are used as needed, and masks and sun care have separate timing.
