how to moisturize.

Moisturizer seals in every layer. Warm a little between your fingertips, then dot it on your forehead, cheeks and chin. Smooth it outwards, and upwards. It goes on after serum at night, and before sunscreen in the morning.

what it does.

It locks in the hydration you just layered and keeps skin soft and comfortable. It is the lid on the jar.

Skip it and: the hydration you just layered has nothing holding it in, and skin can soon feel tight again.

how to use it.

Moisturizers come in more than one format, and they are not used the same way. Find yours.

Moisturizer

A cream or gel that seals everything underneath.

  1. Apply while the layers underneath are still slightly damp.
  2. Warm it between your palms, then press it over your face and neck.

Barrier cream

A ceramide or panthenol layer, with nothing active in it.

  1. Use it after your treatment layers, before or instead of your usual moisturizer.
  2. On a bad week, use it in place of your actives rather than on top of them.

how often.

Twice a day, as the last skincare step before sunscreen. On a reactive week a barrier cream can stand in for it, or for your actives.
