Titanium dioxide

A white mineral used as a physical UV filter and pigment.

Gives the formula its color
UV filter

What it does: Helps filter UV light in sun care. In makeup and other formulas, the white pigment adds color, makes the formula less see-through and can give a light-reflecting finish.
How often: Every morning in sunscreen, with reapplication outdoors at the product's stated interval; makeup is worn when wanted, while other skincare and masks use their own schedules.
